AmeriHealth New Jersey Laboratory Network Update
As a reminder, effective May 1, 2018, LabCorp Corporation of America® Holdings (LabCorp) will become the exclusive outpatient lab for all AmeriHealth HMO, Inc. and AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey (collectively AmeriHealth New Jersey) commercial HMO, HMO Plus, POS, POS Plus, PPO, EPO, and self-funded business. As part of this process, Quest DiagnosticsTM (Quest) will terminate as an AmeriHealth New Jersey participating lab effective October 1, 2017, and will be out-of-network at that time. As a result of the Quest termination, all customers and subscribers will be notified of this lab network update, and ID cards will be reissued to affected members in the coming weeks.
AmeriHealth New Jersey members can continue to seek in-network lab services from the following remaining outpatient labs until their participation with AmeriHealth New Jersey ends:
- BioReference Laboratories (BioReference) will terminate effective March 1, 2018, and will be an out-of-network provider at that time.
- Health Network Laboratories® (Health Network) will terminate effective May 1, 2018, and will be an out-of-network provider at that time.
Today, there are 117 LabCorp Patient Service Centers in the state of New Jersey. LabCorp includes the following affiliates as part of its specialty laboratory testing group: Dianon Pathology, Integrated Oncology, Integrated Genetics, MedTox Laboratories, Monogram BioSciences, and Litholink (“Specialty Testing Groupâ€). In addition to LabCorp and the Specialty Testing Group, AmeriHealth New Jersey will also continue to include other currently contracted fee-for-service laboratories in-network, after May 1, 2018. Members to receive new ID cards in September
The upcoming Quest termination on October 1, 2017, will result in generation of ID cards for large and small group members with renewal dates from February 2017 – September 2017, that have a PCP still capitated to Quest.1 In the coming weeks prior to the Quest termination, customers and subscribers will be sent a notification and receive replacement ID cards. Customers and members will also be alerted of the updates the next time they sign on to amerihealthexpress.com.
